The Sun

"Scissors cut fine new tunes"

The Sun

Saturday 20 August 2005

I've had the first listen to some new Scissor Sisters tracks...and I can't wait for their new album. The band have a lot live up to in trying to follow their debut disc which rocketed them to stardom.
But after hearing the new material at a charity gig for www.whateverittakes.org I reckon they've done a good job.
Ana Matronic proved she's the best frontwoman in music on Thursday night at The Forum in Kentish Town, London.
Watched by celebs including Rachel Stevens and Will Young, Ana and Jake Shears bounded effortlessly around the stage for an hour-and-a-half as they sho-cased great new songs.
Jake dazzled in a leopard-skin top and tight orange leather trousers - made for him by his dad.
And Ana looked brilliant in fish-net stockings and a gold wrap-around dress.
The group have adopted a more Seventies funk sound with Can’t Decide, Hybrid, Other Side, Cher Baby, Paul McCartney and what I expect to be their next single, Everybody Wants.
The album is due out in February.
