"Scissor Sisters Play London Charity Gig"

XFM Online

Wednesday 10 August 2005
In a world exclusive. Xfm can reveal that Scissor Sisters will be playing a very special one-off charity show at the Kentish Town Forum in London later this month. And we have all the ticket details.

In addition to their V Festival appearances, Xfm and 21st Century Leaders are presenting the Scissor Sisters at a special charity concert at the Kentish Town Forum in North London on Thursday August 18.

Tickets this event for will be going on-sale priced £25 at 9am on Thursday August 11 and they can only be purchased through www.whateverittakes.org.

A limited number will also be available through the box office at London Astoria at face value. They will be limited to two per person and ticket purchasers should note that they will be required to present photo ID on the door on the day of the show that matches the name printed on the tickets.

All proceeds from the event will be donated to charity, with 20% going to Strummerville - The Joe Strummer Foundation For New Music - and 80% to the Elton John Aids Foundation.

In addition, Ana Matronic, Jake Shears and Paddy Boom have also specially designed exclusive wristbands which all contain a message and symbol of hope for the future. Fans will also have the opportunity to buy a piece of the band at the special show. At least £1 from each wristband will be donated to charities chosen by the band including WaterAid, LifeLine, DreamsCanBe and Children of the Andes.

This will be the public's first chance to get a preview of the new Scissors album (and a glimpse of their new stage production), so we expect these tickets to sell out very, very quickly, so I'd be pretty swift about it.
