"Mastodon Get Charitable"

Mastodon recently contributed artwork to the charity 21st Century Leaders which uses donated piece to create merchandise which is then sold with 100 per cent of the net profits going to a cause chosen by the contributor. Mastodon have requested that 50 per cent of the funds raised by their wristband - designed by guitarist Brent Hinds - be donated to Save The Children and the other half for the fight against HIV/AIDS. Other contributors have included Ozzy Osbourne, Slash, Nicko McBrain (Iron Maiden), Ville Valo (HIM) and Scott Ian (Anthrax) who, like Mastodon, have had their artwork turned into wristbands. The Mastodon wristband is limited edition and costs £3.99 and is available from Virgin Megastores, and through www.whateverittakes.org.
